After spending the past week coaxing my computer back from the dead, I was all set to start in on the strips for this week.

Unfortunately fate had other plans.

I've just had my car go out on me for the third time in a month. I won't know exactly what's wrong with it till tomorrow morning when my mechanic can see it, but the general consensus right now is that in the next few days I'm about to spend a whole lot of money I don't currently have.

I've been putting off getting a new car for a while, thinking my old Saturn had another winter in her. But at this point I'm having to face reality. She's 12 years old, and well over 100K. After 5+ years of $20-$30 repairs, I've been facing triple-digit bills this past month. She's going fast, and even if this latest thing turns out to be cheap to fix, the next one won't be.

So if anyone can reccomend a sturdy, reliable, cheap-to-repair car, now is the time to preach your mechanical gospel. My mechanic, who's served me extremely well over the years has reccomended both Honda and Toyota as fitting those requirements, but beyond that I don't know squat about cars. So if you do, I could use the advice.

I told AL I wasn't going to use this title for this strip, but I decided to do it anyway. It just fit too well.

One thing I have managed to resist buying en masse, is the wave of 12" scale army toys I keep seeing at Toy's R Us. I want a 3 foot long tank in my living room, but I've already settled for the Star Destroyer. But man, even since I was a little kid I've wished I could shrink to a foot tall at will, and charge around in a toy jeep. I love that stuff!
